In July 2012, a group of contortionists squeezed their way into record books in London, setting a new a new record for the most people crammed into a photo booth. A crowd of onlookers gathered at the recently transformed King's Cross station to see seven flexible females pack themselves into the tiny booth and set a new benchmark.

Under the guidelines for the record, once all participants are in place within the booth they must hold their position for a minimum of five seconds. Those taking part are also required to be over the age of 18 and must measure at least 5 ft in height.

The attempt formed part of a promotional event for photo booth operators Photo-Me, which saw the company offer hundreds of free photos to the public. (Link)

50 female models dressed in black singlets and hotpants and one lucky guy managed to just fit, squeezing together, on and around a king size bed - setting the new world record for the Most People Simultaneously On A Bed.

First they tried laying on the bed. Clearly this was not going to work but, it wasn't really the end of the world. Then they tried sitting on the bed. This allowed the girls to get closer together and they got 27 on the bed before no more could be squeezed in.

Finally, they tried standing on the bed. Success! All 50 girls managed to just fit, squeezing together, and holding it there for the official 30 seconds that the folks at Guinness World Records demanded. The event was staged to launch NakedSleep.com, a website boasting the cheapest accommodation in New Zealand. (Link)

In 1961, students at the University of Maine decided to cram inside hollow trees. Yes, really. According to the Bettmann Archive:

A “Tree Stuffing” contest to create interest in their respective organizations, was held by the Pi Phi Sorority and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at the University of Maine, when they challenged one another to the contest of cramming hollow trees on the campus. The girls, after removing their shoes, stuffed 13 into the tree, the boys 15. (Link)

Most people in a shower (and by people I mean models)

Most people in a shower (and by people I mean models)
People – look at your shower. Now back to us. Now back at your shower. Now back to us. This shower isn't your shower, because this one can hold 152 people. But if you start using Lynx shower gel instead of lady-scented bodywash, your shower could smell like this one. Lynx, never faltering in their goal to make all the world's men smell slightly better (a noble goal if ever there was one), have outdone themselves. And everyone else, as it happens – everyone else in the field of “getting as many people to have a shower at once", anyway, as they've broken the world record.

Before this monumental day, the world record for the largest number of people using the same shower in one go was a mere 145. Set back in 2009, it was blown out of the water by Lynx who managed to squeeze a whole SEVEN extra people into their enormous six-metre-tall shower at Bournemouth Beach, Dorset, UK. (Link)

During the Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition in San Diego, California, 17 of the canine competitors crammed themselves onto a single long board, setting the new world record for the Most Dogs On A Surfboard At One Time With A Human, according to the World Records Academy.

It started out as 20 dogs on the same surfboard, but as you can see in the video below, three dogs bailed out just after the surfboard got going. (Link)

Most people in a Mini Cooper

If you thought 7 girls squeezing into a phone booth was impressive, wait until you hear of these 26 girls hopping inside a MINI Cooper. The previous record stood at 25 people but this latest group of dancers from the Pilobolus dance company, all 26 of them, managed to squeeze into the iconic British hatchback and stay there with all the doors and windows shut.

To break the official Guinness World Record for the most people that can fit inside a new-generation MINI Cooper, all the dancers had to be at least 5.0 feet tall and had to stay inside the vehicle for a total of 5.0 seconds.

Most people in a pair of underwear

In 2011, Pants to Poverty crammed nearly 60 people into a giant pair of underpants to celebrate Guinness World Records Day. Clad in little more than underwear and socks, the participants gathered in Canary Wharf in London, UK, to break the record for “Most People Gathered in a Single Pair of Pants.” (Really.) But a place in the annals of outlandish one-upmanship wasn't the fair-trade label's only purpose. The stunt was also an opportunityto raise awareness about ethical work conditions in the fashion industry. No word if anyone received the “World's Biggest Wedgie.” (Link)

The Indian Army's motorcycle display team set a new World record on Sunday, November 28, 2010, for the maximum number of people on a motorcycle. The team managed to squeeze 54 people onto a 500cc Royal Enfield, beating the record of 48 people set by the squad.

The new record saw all 54 'riders' cover a distance of 1.1 km at the Yehlanka Air Force base in Bangalore. The team says no modifications were made to the motorcycle's engine for the record attempt. (Link)
